A person answers. With a draft's help.

We run our own support inbox on InboxMinder Pro, so your email lands in a thread that already has a reply waiting. Here is how to reach us and what to include so the first answer is the right one.

GitHub releases

Every version, what changed, and the signed download. Check here first if something changed after an update.

What to include

Three things let us answer in one reply instead of three:

  1. Versions. The app version (in Finder, select InboxMinder Pro in Applications and press Command-I) and your macOS version.
  2. What you saw and what you expected. A screenshot of the menu bar status or the Preferences tab involved is ideal.
  3. The log. Click Log at the bottom of the menu bar window, or run the command below in Terminal to copy the last hundred lines. The log records subjects, senders, labels and provider errors, never message bodies; skim it before sending if you prefer.
tail -n 100 ~/.inboxminder/logs/watch.log | pbcopy

Never send us an API key, a Google client secret or a license key in full. If we need to check a key we will ask for its last four characters.

The usual snags

"Google needs you to sign in again"

The menu bar shows a fix-it button that opens the sign-in when Google drops the session. If it happens every week, the Google OAuth app you created is still in Google's "Testing" publishing status, where tokens expire after seven days. Switch it to "In production" in the Google Cloud console (the setup guide shows where) and sign in once more.

No drafts appear, but labels do

Labels are the free gatekeeper; drafts need a license and a working provider key. Check Preferences for the license status, then the provider tab. A key with no credit or the wrong model name fails quietly into "needs you" labels, and the Log button in the menu bar window shows the provider's exact error.

Drafts do not sound like me

Voice comes from your sent mail, and indexing it takes a while on a large mailbox. The Voice tab lists the sent emails it has read so far. Until that fills up, drafts lean on your docs more than your phrasing.

It drafted something it should have left alone

Add a standing instruction in Notes ("never reply to invoices from X"), or a per-sender note. The next draft honours it. Deleting the unwanted draft in Gmail is enough; the app never drafts the same message twice.

The agent shows as stopped after a restart

Open the menu bar window and click Reinstall agent. If the status still says stopped, send us the log as described above.

License questions

  • Key not arrived? It comes from Kelviq at the address you used at checkout. Check spam for a message from kelviq.com, then write to us with the order email.
  • New Mac? Deactivate in Preferences on the old one, activate on the new one. If the old Mac is gone, email us and we release the key.
  • Two mailboxes? One license covers profiles on the same Mac. A second person on their own Mac needs their own key.
  • Refund? Fourteen days, one email. See the refunds page.

Guides and release notes

  • The setup wizard in the app has a click-by-click guide and a video for the Google sign-in step, the one part that takes more than a minute.
  • Release notes for every version, with the signed DMG.
  • The command-line tool under the app does everything the app does. Run it with --help for the list; the developers section has examples.
  • The free gatekeeper is open source, if you want to read how labelling works.

Reporting a security issue

If you find a vulnerability in InboxMinder Pro or this site, email hi@kelviq.com with "Security" in the subject. Tell us what you found and how to reproduce it; please do not publish it until we have had a chance to ship a fix, and please do not test against mailboxes that are not yours. We reply within two business days, credit you in the release notes if you want, and never take action against good-faith research.
